We jumped forward in time while revisiting the Abeokuta GRA to film scenes with the adult Kashimawo, played by Wole Ojo (winner of AMBO 4). At an ostentatiously decorated mansion, Kashimawo encounters Big Man (played with bombastic flair by Olumide Bakare).
A wardrobe malfunction occurred around noon, which caused a small delay by necessitating a market trip to find a replacement. Shooting quickly resumed in the afternoon for the exterior scene in which Kashimawo sees his personal assistant, Dolapo (played by Tamilore Kuboye), upon leaving the mansion.
Night fell and we returned once more to the second-story open patio–where the red room from Wednesday had been replaced by its white counterpart.
Since tomorrow is scheduled to be the last day of shooting in Abeokuta, cast and crew have begun to reflect on the shoot. “With the completion of Ma’ami, TK is now the front-runner of the digital film-making revolution in Africa, a medium that rivals traditional celluloid film-making in terms of budget and accessibility. It seems that it’s a battle we have to fight to finish for each scene,” declared Olaitan Faranpojo (Second Assistant Director).
